The Belladrum Medicine Show Potting Shed Line-up Announced for Belladrum 2015
The Potting Shed is a firm favorite for Belladrum festival-goers and a stage which proves year again that good things do come in small packages!
Things are kicked off on Thursday with the traditional welcome from Emma Mitchell and The Greenhouse Jam Band followed by The Federal with their Highland take on celtic country music.
The weekend line up features an eclectic array of acts including the big band blues of Dougie Burns and The Cadillac’s, Barbaraville recording artist singer songwriting Helen McCookerybook founding member of The Chefs in 1979, who were much loved by the late John Peel, Nicky Murray & Chloe Rogers a new force of the Scottish enlightened youth, hot new act from the Scottish country music city of Perth The Carloways, from Canada Kenny Butterill who is currently promoting his “Troubadour Tales” CD, one of Scotland’s very best guitarists with his story of the blues Andy Gunn, favourites of The Potting Shed The Galipaygos, Rob Ellen’s tip for great things in 2015 The Dark Green Tree, Highland legend Davy Cowan & The Storm Chasers, leading country music personality Fash Stewart & The Great & The Good, alternative-folk-punk group Sara Bills and the Hasbeens, making a very welcome return the magical and medicinal Minnesotan Charlie Roth, Edinburgh power house The Holy Ghosts, John Coletta brings his Humpff Family Revival, one of the UK’s premier alt-country rock bands The Redlands Palomino Company, fit like funk fae Aberdeen from The Oxbow Lake Orchestra, Fat Hippy Records recording artist Colin Clyne & The Carrons, Less Than Worse channelling the attitude comes from the mods, punks and skinheads, along with The Wayward Ellen Boys – aka Rob & Brother Mark Ellen The Yodelling Mix Master – “Wrangler Rap with synchronised Yodelling”.
The 2 CV Stage (sponsored by 2CV Hire Loch Ness www.2cvhirelochness.co.uk) is also making a very welcome return for 2015.
The 2cv stage was a well received addition to the programme last year offering impromptu space and flexibility to mix and match with festival artists during the day, it is hosted by the lovely Darren Poyzer who as well as being a songwriter of note runs a myriad of open Mics and Facebook groups in support of other songsters across the north of England.
Also appearing over the weekend are, Caroline Truslove, Neil Walker, Lisa T, Les Cowley, Tabs and Willie Macaskill, Hamish MacDonald, Logan McGee, Love Ancients, Penniless Moth (Topher Elliott, Neil Mackenzie), All Hat No Cat, Blue Shades, and Dave Fleming & Keilan Ross launching their new CD “The Silent Hotel” available on Barbaraville Records.
Already announced for Belladrum’s music line-up are The Proclaimers headlining the new Thursday night bill on the main stage, with The Correspondents, Keston Cobblers Club, Scooty & The Skyhooks and Bite Night also on the Thursday bill. Manic Street Preachers headline Friday night and Kaiser Chiefs headline the Saturday. Belladrum 2015 takes place in the beautiful Highland surroundings of Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire. The independent festival has built a reputation for its eclectic line-ups, its offbeat non-musical entertainments and its all-ages approach. The festival won a VisitScotland Thistle Award in 2009 and is a past winner of the Grassroots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards, the festival industry’s ‘Oscars’.
