IDLEWILD, PRIDES AND MORE FOR BELLA
The legendary Scots rock band Idlewild has been announced as an addition to the line-up at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (6-8th August; Beauly, Inverness-shire). The band will be joined by Scots indie rising stars Prides and The LaFontaines.
Glasgow singer-songwriter and 2015 SAY Award winner Kathryn Joseph will be joining bill on the XpoNorth Seedlings stage, while Leeds alternative dance band The Sunshine Underground will feature along with The Cuban Brothers, who will be bringing some late night Caribbean fun to the Crabbie’s Hothouse Stage.
Also newly announced are: Hidden Charms whose single ‘Dreaming Of Another Girl’ is fast becoming a streaming sensation on Spotify; Brit punk Americana outfit Kill It Kid; Edinburgh alternative indie rockers The Winter Tradition, buzz Inverness Hip Hop act Spring Break, and the hotly tipped Schnarff Schnarff.
For the first time, ticket holders can upgrade to a new VIP enclosure that has been created in a leafy woodland glade at the festival called “The Hielan’ Coo Club” after the event’s mascot of a highland cow. Featured in this VIP area will be: a cocktail bar and chill-out zone; covered seating; posh loos; massage; beauty and makeup area; yurt sauna; and special food and drink. On top of this, the new Delicious Bella feasting tent, curated by celebrity cook Claire Macdonald, will host 3-course banqueting lunches and suppers made from the finest Highland fare, and served by waiting staff for £35 per person. Supported as part of the Year of Food and Drink, an initiative delivered by VisitScotland, ‘Deliciously Bella’ will also feature gourmet brunches from 0900-1200 each morning.
A limited number of £30 one-day tickets to see The Proclaimers and more are available to the new main stage extra night on the evening of Thursday 6th August. Tickets include the cost of parking but camping for Thursday only ticket holders is not available.
All other available adult and children weekend and day tickets have been sold as have Campervan/ Caravan tickets.
Tickets allowing an upgrade from Weekend to Three Day tickets to see The Proclaimers on the new Thursday night main stage are available to existing Weekend ticket holders, as are Saturday to Weekend upgrades. Upgrades to Electrical Hook-up are available to existing Campervan/ Caravan ticket holders.
Already announced for Belladrum’s music line-up are The Proclaimers headlining the new Thursday night bill on the main stage, with The Correspondents, Keston Cobblers Club, Scooty & The Skyhooks and Bite Night also on the Thursday bill. Manic Street Preachers headline Friday night and Kaiser Chiefs headline the Saturday. Belladrum 2015 takes place in the beautiful Highland surroundings of Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire. The independent festival has built a reputation for its eclectic line-ups, its offbeat non-musical entertainments and its all-ages approach. The festival won a VisitScotland Thistle Award in 2009 and is a past winner of the Grassroots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards, the festival industry’s ‘Oscars’.
