RETURNS IN 2027 WITH

FIVE

In association with Heart

Friday 27th August 2027 • Central Park, Chelmsford

Chelmsford Summer Series returns to Central Park for the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2027, with FIVE announced as the first headliner. Presented in association with Heart, the band will headline Friday 27th August, bringing all five members to Chelmsford as they celebrate 30 years since forming in 1997.

One of Britain’s most successful pop groups, FIVE have sold more than 20 million records worldwide and charted in over 20 countries. All 11 of their singles reached the UK Top 10, including three No.1s, while their self-titled debut album entered the UK chart at No.1 in 1998. Both FIVE and its 1999 follow-up, Invincible, achieved double-platinum status.

Their Keep On Movin’ tour in 2025 marked the first time all five members had shared the stage in more than 25 years. Initially announced as a 12-show run, it expanded to 25 arena dates across the UK and Ireland. The reunion continued in 2026 with shows in Australia and New Zealand, followed by UK summer headline shows and festivals. Their Chelmsford appearance brings that reunion into the band’s 30th anniversary year.

Set within more than 35 acres of parkland in the heart of the city, Central Park provides a distinctive setting for live music, combining open green space with Chelmsford’s riverside and historic railway viaduct. The announcement follows the series’ launch in 2026, which brought Sugababes, McFly and Craig David Presents TS5 to the park across three days.

Councillor Jennie Lardge, Leader of Chelmsford City Council and Cabinet Member for Culture & Leisure said, “Chelmsford is a city of outstanding cultural events, and the return of Chelmsford Summer Series in 2027 is set to bring yet another brilliant line-up to Central Park. Welcoming more internationally renowned artists to Chelmsford reflects our ambition for the city. These concerts provide fantastic opportunities for residents to experience high-quality live music locally, while also helping to strengthen Chelmsford’s reputation as a destination for culture and events that the whole city can be proud of.”

Further artists and details of the 2027 programme will be announced. For more information, visit www.chelmsford.live.

More than 30 artists featured across the programme, including Annie Mac, Melanie C (DJ Set), Twin Atlantic, Kurupt FM and Nathan Dawe.
