“Festivals like TRNSMT bring vibrancy and enjoyment to visitors and locals alike. The council will work with festival organisers, the authorities and the local community over the next year to ensure we build on the success of 2019 and make 2020 another year to remember.”

Organisers ensured that the feel-good vibes of the previous two days continued right on down to the festival’s finale. The Amazons were the first band to take to the Main Stage, blowing fans away with an onslaught of hard-hitting rock anthems from their new record.
An artist who continues to grow in stature with each TRNSMT performance, Tom Grennan announced new music is coming as he returned to the festival for the third consecutive year with his soulful sound, declaring to the crowd: “This festival is one of my favourites! I’ve been coming for three years now! The fun is always strong when I’m here.”
Mid-afternoon saw festival favourites The Wombats and The Kooks bringing some joyous noughties’ indie vibes to the Main Stage earlier today. Thirteen years after they cemented their place in the indie scene with the release of their hugely popular debut album ‘Inside In/Inside Out’, The Kooks proved they are still a formidable force as a new generation of fans sang along to the massive hits ‘Naïve’, ‘She Moves in Her Own Way’ and more in the Sunday sunshine.
Frontman Luke Pritchard was clearly delighted with the TRNSMT crowd saying,“Such a great line-up! Look at those beautiful people! Where are my bouncers at!”

From the hotly tipped whenyoung to Edinburgh’s very own Retro Video Clubto Annie Mac favourites Sea Girls, the King Tut’s Stage Powered by Utilita Energy offered the perfect line up for indie fans on the closing day of TRNSMTFestival. An American dream played out across the site earlier today as Catherine McGrath and SWMRS took to the stage. Hailed as one of the finest country stars to emerge from the UK in years and supported by the likes of Elton John, Catherine McGrath brought a touch of Nashville to TRNSMT for the first time later in the afternoon with her bespoke style. Bringing the summer vibes to the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage, surprising the crowd with a cover of Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’. She was followed by high-flying punk outfit SWMRS. Featuring the son of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, drummer Joey Armstrong looks set to follow in his father’s footsteps after this incendiary performance that is sure to have won the band a swarm of new fans. Spotted in the crowd singing along to SWMRS’ tunes were The Amazons who rocked the Main Stage earlier in the day. Over on the Queen Tut’s Stage, some of the best new female talent took the stage including The Eves, Zoee, Tamzene, Stephanie Cheape, Deni Smith, and Baby Taylah.
The Queen Tut’s Stage is an exciting addition to the festival, with organisers DF Concerts aiming to break down the ‘Gender Play Gap’ over time. DF Concerts were delighted to welcome Scottish Women Inventing Music (SWIM) onsite over the weekend who were raising awareness of the organisation.
A party atmosphere echoed around the Smirnoff Bar as big crowds danced to DJ sets from K4cie, Cal Griffin and more. Meanwhile swarms of fans enjoyed party anthems at the Utilita Power Tree, as well as a festival necessity of phone charging.

Meanwhile, Emeli Sandé commanded the Main Stage with ease at the other end of the site following the announcement that she would join the bill last weekend. Leading the crowd in a mass singalong throughout her set, it was emotional and euphoric in all the right places with ‘Read All About It’ and ‘Next To Me’ amongst the highlights . The Scottish crowd welcomed Sandé with open arms as the sun shone bright on her beaming smile that was mirrored in the sold-out crowd.
Playing TRNSMT Festival for the very first time, Emeli Sandé said, “It’s so good to be home. This next song Glasgow I want to dedicate to you, I’ve felt your love every time I come here and I appreciate it.”

One of the most anticipated sets of the day came from the people’s hero Lewis Capaldi who was greeted by one of the biggest crowds of the weekend as the adoring sold-out hometown audience lapped up his set, which included tunes from his Number One album plus that trademark Lewis humour. Fans were spotted throughout the day donning Lewis Capaldi sunglasses, Scottish Beyonce t-shirts and even traffic cones in tribute as the anticipation was at an all-time high. This was Capaldi’s second time on the TRNSMT Festival Main Stage, taking the penultimate slot before George Ezra. As one of three artists who have appeared at the festival every year since it began in 2017, alongside Gerry Cinnamon and Tom Grennan, it was something that Lewis Capaldiwas clearly proud of; his performance in front of a sold-out Glasgow Green was undoubtedly his biggest and best Scottish gig to date. From playing to pubs and clubs in and around Bathgate to King Tut’s and then having the fastest selling album of 2019 as well as the biggest selling song of the year so far with ‘Someone You Loved’, the TRNSMT crowd have been there for Lewis Capaldifrom the very start and his performance today was nothing short of spectacular. Playing a huge set of hits including opener ‘Grace’, ‘Hollywood’, ‘Hold Me While You Wait’, ‘Bruises’ and ‘Someone You Loved’, Capaldi gave lessons in how to storm the mainstage as he wore a Stormzy t-shirt, smashed an Oasis cover, wore a Chewbacca t-shirt and walked on to ‘Bits & Pieces’. Lewis shouted out fellow TRNSMT acts Gerry Cinnamon, The Snuts and Emeli Sandé saying it was a great time for Scottish music.
Lewis said, “It’s good to be home. Glasgow thank you so much – honestly best f*****g gig of my life!”
The good vibes continued to sweep over Glasgow Green as the final Sunday night act George Ezra took to the Main Stage. With a new BRIT Award for Best British Male in his possession as well as the biggest selling album of 2018, the past year has seen the singer-songwriter graduate to a bona fide superstar. He delivered a truly triumphant set that was brimming with confidence and infectious enthusiasm.

With a host of performances from some of the best talent on the scene right now on the King Tut’s Stage Powered by Utilita Energy, incredible energy on the Queen Tut’s Stage, plus live DJ sets in the Smirnoff House and Utilita Power Tree, TRNSMT 2019has firmly established itself as Scotland’s biggest and best event in the summer.

“Glasgow Green is a spectacular venue, and when you bring together world-class artists with the best audience in the world, it creates something really special.

Stormzy got TRNSMT Festival off to a flying start on Friday, as they pulled out all the stops to get the superstar to Glasgow Green – even a police escort, which he documented on Instagram. For one of the most memorable moments of an incredible day, the rapper then took on Scotland’s very own Lewis Capaldi’s Number One hit ‘Someone You Loved’. An unexpected surprise and a truly outstanding moment in a jam-packed day of music, the cover went down a storm, unsurprisingly, with the TRNSMT crowd joining him to sing every single word. Lewis returned the favour by donning a #MERKY t-shirt for his Sunday night set.
Gerry Cinnamon may have played at festivals around the world, however there’s no crowd like a home crowd and as the fans erupted in adoring roars on Friday night, they witnessed a performance that will quite simply be hard to beat. Making his third appearance at the festival in as many years incredible scenes ensued as a champion of TRNSMT Festival took to the Main Stage, taking the crowd on singalongs to remember for ‘Belter’, ‘Sometimes’ and ‘Canter.
On to Saturday and it was up to Catfish and the Bottlemen to bring the day’s festivities to a thunderous finale. The band, who cut their teeth in some of Glasgow’s most intimate venues back in the very early stages of their career, delivered a set that was quite simply hit after hit and worthy of their status as festival closers. And for the second time that day, acts played an ode to the city with both The Snuts and Catfish and the Bottlemen singing their songs ‘Glasgow’.
The sunny final day saw homegrown talent return to the stages with Emeli Sandé and Lewis Capaldi taking to the stages and George Ezra playing some of summer’s most loved songs to close a spectacular festival…only 362 days until we can do it all over again at TRNSMT 2020!
