With only six weeks to go until the first Wickerman campers arrive at the festival gates, Scotland’s hottest independent music and arts event has revealed its eagerly anticipated goNORTH Festival Tour Tent line up.   Now in its fourth year, the goNORTH tent presents some of the most exciting new talent to have emerged from the Scottish and International music scenes, with acts selected following submissions and performances earlier in the month at the goNORTH Festival in Inverness.

The line up on Friday 25th July is topped by Edinburgh based indie folk act Broken Records.  The Edinburgh based six-piece use their different musical backgrounds and a wide variety of instrumentation to compliment the eclectic sound they create.  They will be joined by Glaswegian alternative rock band United Fruit  who fuse noisy fast paced punk with catchy melodies and crunching riffs and Vladimir, a thrashing four-piece rock band, who have been described as ‘the noisiest band in Dundee’.

Other Friday line-up additions include alt-rock four piece Copper Lungs, atmospheric dream-pop band Prehistoric Friends, psychedelic quartet The Moon Kids, Dundee’s Our Future Glory, garage punk trio Halfrican, alt folk rock band Dante and Glasgow four-piece Felix Champion.

Saturday marks the return to Wickerman for ferocious electronic trio Roman Nose to bring the curtain down on the stage.  The band, who perform fully masked, have rapidly built a reputation as one of the most exciting new live prospects in Scotland.  Ella The Bird is the creative guise of Siobhan Wilson, whose performance at this year’s goNORTH left the audience spellbound. Inverness alt-rock quintet Schnarff Schnarff combine the best elements of 90s melodic rock and 00s indie disco and recently released their debut 5-track EP to much acclaim. They will be joined by all girl group TeenCanteen who describe their music as cherry-cola kissed, sticky-harmony indie-pop.

Making the journey from Sweden to Scotland for Saturday are minimalistic rock duo, Pale Honey whose kicked back music style comes with a clear and intense vibe. We Came From Wolves from Perth are four like mind individuals who take ideas and inspiration from past projects and experiences to create melodic, emotive jaggy rock.

Saturday’s line up is further bolstered by singer and songwriter Angus Munro whose performances are influenced by Ben Folds, Rufus Wainwright and The Divine Comedy,  six-piece alternative rock band, Adopted As Holograph, who play a mixture of continental jazz and Balkan music, Scary People, a Dundee five-piece who produce energy laden alternative rock and Culann who are in their element playing live, with huge tunes that create those ‘hairs on the back of your neck’ moments.

We are really looking forward to returning to the Wickerman this summer”, said goNORTH Project Manager, Alex Smith. “The festival provides a fantastic platform for showcasing a wide range of emerging talent and fully embraces the diversity of the acts that play in the goNORTH Festival Tour Tent.  It is very exciting to be included in one of the most prestigious music festivals in Scotland”.
