150,000 music fans descended on Glasgow Green this weekend for the sold out TRNSMT Festival which well and truly lived up to its reputation as Scotland’s biggest and best music festival. The mid-week chart has shown the TRNSMT effect is in full swing with local hero Gerry Cinnamon on track to reach a new UK chart peak this Friday for his debut album ‘Erratic Cinematic’ – 30 weeks after it was released.

Over 70 acts performed at TRNSMT 2019 over three days of incredible live music and glorious sunshine as fans were treated to unforgettable sets from Main Stage heavyweights Stormzy, Catfish & the Bottlemen, George Ezra, Gerry Cinnamon, Lewis Capaldi, Emeli Sandé and more while over at the King Tut’s Stage Powered by Utilita Energy and the brand new Queen Tut’s Stage, fans had the opportunity to check out an exciting array of up and coming talent from all over Scotland and further afield.

As fans continue to reflect on one of the best weekends of the summer so far, the TRNSMT effect shows that artists are still basking in the glory of their triumphant performances on the Main Stage. It has also been revealed that as well as Gerry CinnamonTRNSMT acts AJ TraceyGeorge EzraMabeland DMA’s have also risen up the UK charts just a few days since TRNSMT Festival.

From local hero to bonafide national phenomenon, Gerry Cinnamon performed to his biggest hometown crowd to date when he took to the Main Stage on Friday evening before closing act Stormzy. The effect of his set is clearly still reverberating with fans as according to the midweek UK Chart update, his debut album ‘Erratic Cinematic’ has risen 20 places from number 34 to number 12 in the space of a few days. Meaning that he is on track to reach a new UK Chart peak this Friday – 30 weeks after the album was first unveiled.
