T in the Park history was made today as the first campers arrived and pitched their tents at the festival’s picturesque new home, Strathallan Castle, for the very first time.
The sun shone down on the Perthshire countryside this morning as the campsite gates opened, and festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager welcomed the first fans to the festival’s new home for what will be an incredible house-warming party for Strathallan Castle.
There’s still time for music lovers to make sure they’re part of the celebrations and get their hands on the last few remaining tickets – available now from www.tinthepark.com.
The new site Strathallan Castle is proving a huge hit with fans, who have been blown away by its beauty.
Jenna Coyle from Armadale, said: “This is my first time at T in the Park. I think the new site is brilliant, we have our tent pitched and it’s going to be a class weekend.”

Lynsey Young from Bathgate said: “This is my third time at T in the Park. My favourite thing about T is the atmosphere and the music. I can’t wait to see The Prodigy this weekend.”

Festival Director Geoff Ellis was there to open the campsite gates this morning, he said:  “The moment we open the campsite gates and welcome the first campers to the festival is always my favourite part of the weekend, but this year it was a truly historic occasion as we celebrated the first ever T in the Park at Strathallan Castle getting officially underway. It’s fantastic to see T in the Parkers settling in and enjoying their beautiful new home – so many fans have been telling us how much they love the new site. We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend – welcome to Strathallan!”

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship, Tennent’s Lager, said: It’s fantastic to welcome the first campers to Strathallan Castle – the site looks glorious, the sun is shining and the atmosphere is incredible. This is such a special year for Tennent’s at T in the Park, we have our brand new bar, The Tennent’s Arms – with Sub Club DJs and a stunning outdoor terrace overlooking the arena.  It’s also the 20th year of T Break and arguably one of the strongest T Break line-ups yet. We just can’t wait for everyone to get here, have a great time and enjoy the new site.”

As the anticipation among fans reaches fever pitch ahead of the Main Arena opening in full tomorrow, here’s the ultimate #HelloStrathallan check list of things to do, bands to see and memories to make at what is going to be an epic house warming party.
