Glasgow Green was the backdrop for another day of live music, the city’s tastiest street food from Big Feed on Tour and fans enjoying the full festival experience with a dance or two at The Boogie Bar or chilling out in the new Wellbeing Area.
As the sun set across the festival site, fans knew it was almost time for something special as cinch presents TRNSMT prepared to welcome back Liam Gallagher. Saturday night’s headliner has long since proclaimed his love for Scottish fans, and now it was time for the big reunion.
The opener, Oasis favourite ‘Hello’, set the tone with a mass singalong and the appropriate lyric “It’s Good To Be Back”. The frontman enjoyed every second, launching into ‘Morning Glory’ before dedicating ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’ to Primal Scream, saying “This is for Primal Scream, the best rock and roll band to come out of Scotland”.
Performing hits from both solo albums as well as Oasis classics including ‘Wall of Glass’, and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, the fans made sure Liam felt the love. With a back catalogue tailor-made for unforgettable festival moments, Liam Gallagher launched into an encore which included ‘Roll With It’ and ‘Live Forever’ before signing off with the evergreen ‘Wonderwall’.
It was a day for homegrown heroes and rising stars on the festival’s Main Stage as Scottish icons Primal Scream performed one of the sets of the weekend, bringing their era-defining tunes to cinch presents TRNSMT Festival for the very first time.
Enthralling the crowd with hits like ‘Jailbird’ and ‘Country Girl’, and clearly delighted to be back in Glasgow, frontman Bobby Gillespie said “You ready to move it on up Glasgow?”
